AI in Healthcare Policy

AI in Healthcare – The Basics

Artificial Intelligence in healthcare (AI) refers to the use of computer algorithms and machine learning to support or enhance clinical and operational functions—such as diagnostics, care coordination, administrative workflows, claims processing, and personalized care plans. According to the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI), effective AI deployment in healthcare should be governed by strong governance frameworks, ethical standards, and equity assessments to ensure safety, transparency, and patient trust.
